enechain’s Platform to Start Handling Environmental Commodities
enechain, a company that offers the largest wholesale energy trading marketplace in Japan, has recently launched environmental commodities on its energy platform. enechain recently facilitated for Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, who sold their non-fossil certificate of renewable electricity, which was generated by the groups wind farms. Since then, enechain has been broking trades of non-fossil certificates and J-Credit.
enechain’s eSquare, an online platform for hedging energy products, creates a market where anyone can buy and sell energy at fair prices, anywhere, anytime. eSquare aims to provide price transparency and transaction liquidity and has recently undertaken wholesale sales of electricity by Hokkaido Electric Power Company and JERA on a non-discriminatory annual basis for FY2023. As a result, the volume of wholesale electricity transactions has already exceeded 1 trillion yen, making it the largest in Japan.
Utilising enechain’s experience as an electricity trading marketplace and their existing power customers, the main sellers of non-fossil certificate, we will look to provide price transparency and trading liquidity for environmental commodities. Through our environmental offering we aim to contribute to the decarbonisation process and strengthen our collaboration with both domestic and international carbon credit suppliers and carbon accounting services.
Applications for those wishing to trade are open now, for more information visit https://lp.enechain.com/esquare/ezero (Japanese only)
As the operator of Japan's largest energy platform, enechain is committed to expanding transparent and reliable energy trading under the mission "Building energy markets colouring your life".
