enechain Launches Power Forward Curve for Chubu Area
TOKYO – enechain Corporation today announced the official launch of the power forward curve for the Chubu area on its data service platform, "eCompass". This new data offering provides market participants with a crucial price index for the wholesale power market in the Chubu region.
The expansion to the Chubu area follows a surge in wholesale power trading needs for the region. This addition complements the existing curves for the Tokyo and Kansai areas. The Chubu area’s power forward curve is a proprietary table developed by enechain , which calculates fair prices up to four years in advance based on recent market transactions and bid/ask order information.
eCompass is an application designed to visualize and deliver timely, analysis-ready information on global energy supply, demand, and market prices. By leveraging eCompass, power generation and retail companies can comprehensively grasp necessary transaction information—such as supply, demand, and market conditions—that was previously scattered across multiple sources.
The activation of this data is timely, as over-the-counter (OTC) power futures for the Chubu area are scheduled to begin trading on December 8 on both the European Energy Exchange (EEX) and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which is expected to further invigorate trading . enechain will support power companies and contribute to enhanced market liquidity by providing this essential forward curve information through eCompass , leveraging its extensive track record in matching physical transactions for the Chubu area.
